REB Letting / REB Estates – Charity Donations
It seems to be a regular occurrence that we are asked to make donations, buy advertising or sponsor someone to do something daft in the name of a good cause. This is something we are delighted to do, and wish to continue in the future.
For 2008 we have decided to support the following charities:- The RNLI, Hope House / Ty Gobaith & Lupus UK.
The RNLI - is the charity that saves lives at sea
Last year RNLI lifeboats rescued more than 8,000 people, an average of 22 people per day. People from all walks of life help the RNLI to save lives at sea. Thousands of volunteers give their time, skill and commitment often risking their own lives without getting paid.
Robin Burnage (Principal & Proprietor of REB Letting / REB Estates) is an experienced yachtsman and qualified Yachtmaster with many thousands of miles at sea behind him. He is also a Governor of the RNLI (through monthly subscription) and urges anyone with a connection to the sea to give generously.
The RNLI is an obvious choice for Robin to support, not only for his active involvement in sailing but due to the coastal location of the business.
Hope House / Ty Gobaith - making the most of short and precious lives
Hope House Children’s Hospices – Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conwy – provide practical and emotional support to families facing the pain of losing their precious child.
Lupus UK - the registered charity for patients with the immune system illness lupus
LUPUS UK is the only national registered charity supporting people with systemic lupus and discoid lupus and assisting those approaching diagnosis. They presently have over 7,500 Members and 30 Regional Groups who arrange medical talks, publish local newsletters, set up local occasions and organise fundraising events. LUPUS UK also produces an informative national magazine with lupus articles, letters, reports, and photographs, and operates a strong Grant Programme for research purposes and welfare.
